Meeting Hong Kong's Miracle Boy So Wah Wai

On 22 March 2024, Spark Image Consultancy was invited by the China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee to deliver workplace training for a group of exceptional retired disabled athletes. The programme was designed to help them continue to pursue their dreams in the professional world after retirement.

Before the session began, a tall and courteous participant approached and greeted me with, "Hello, teacher." He was So Wah Wai — affectionately known as 偉仔 — a multiple-medal recipient and the current world record holder for the men's 200-metre sprint among disabled athletes. It was a privilege to have him in the class and to support these athletes as they transition into new careers.
